How to Choose the Right Banner Size
Picking the right banner size comes down to three things: where it will hang, how far away people will be standing when they read it, and what you need it to say. Get these right and your banner will look sharp and do its job — whether that's promoting a grand opening, marking a church event, or advertising a farm stand.
Standard Banner Sizes
Most custom banners are ordered in these popular sizes:
- 2' x 4' — Ideal for storefront windows, small booths, or indoor signage
- 3' x 6' — A versatile size for fences, tables, and small event spaces
- 4' x 8' — The most popular size for building exteriors, trade shows, and grand openings
- 3' x 10' — Great for long fences, stages, and building fronts
- 4' x 20' — Built for large-scale visibility at fairs, construction sites, and major events

How to Measure for Your Space
- Measure the mounting area. Whether it's a fence, wall, railing, or truss, measure width and height in inches or feet before ordering.
- Leave hem allowance in mind. Our hems and grommets are added around the finished size you order, so no extra math is required on your end — just give us the size you want the banner to appear.
- Think about viewing distance. As a simple rule of thumb, allow roughly 1 inch of letter height for every 10 feet of viewing distance. A banner read from a car on the road needs much larger text than one hung a few feet from foot traffic.
